MAC Nude Lipsticks Favourites

Hello everybody, welcome back to another blog post. This week I am going to be talking about my favourite nude lipsticks from MAC. Anybody who knows me knows I have had a love for nude lipstick for years! Yes I used to have foundation lips awful I know! My style has changed slowly but surely from very pale shade lipsticks to deeper nude colours. The colours I will talk about below are my go to shades for day and night. All MAC lipsticks retail at €20 and can be purchased from any MAC counter. I really think a nude lipstick is the perfect key to nice makeup whether you want a lighter shade nude or a darker colour shade.

MAC Honey Love
This is my all-time favourite nude lipstick. I only discovered it about a year and a half ago and have religiously bought it again and again once it runs out. It is part of MAC’s matte collection, which basically means there is no shine or gloss of the shade it is complete matte. This can be great for a day look if you are looking for something that is not too out there or for a night look if you want to focus on other aspects of the face such as eyes, highlight etc. However in saying that it does not mean you will not notice the lips when you are wearing this shade, if you have slightly larger lips it looks great! The colour is a deep beige colour, it is quite warm and looks great when you have a slight tan. I find that it does last quite a while if I am wearing it on its own with no gloss over it, I usually get 3-4 hours out of it which is quite good for a nude lipstick in my opinion. I usually pair this with my MAC lip liner in whirl, I find that the two of them fit each other perfectly.
The only downside to this lipstick is the fact that it is a matte colour it can tend to dry out the lips or if you have dry cracked lips it will be a lot easier to notice if you put this lipstick on. Sometimes when my lips are feeling dry but I still want to wear this colour I just pop a clear or nude lip gloss over it and that usually takes away the dry, cracked feeling.

MAC Cherish
Next up is MAC Cherish lipstick. This is part of the 'satin' collection. The satin collection of lipsticks are kind of matte but they are not as drying on your lips as the matte lipsticks would be and do have a slight shine too them which is how they would differ to the matte collection. However they would not be as creamy or shiny as cremesheen or amplified. 'Cherish' is quite a brown colour and would be quite similar to 'Honey Love' however it has slightly lighter tones on it and does give off that shine when you are wearing it.

MAC Blankety
The next lipstick I am going to talk through is 'blankety'. This is a different texture again and is part of the amplified collection. This basically means the lipstick is very creamy and has a nice shine to it. If you are looking for a lipstick that will not dry out your lips this is definitely for you!  In terms of the colour it is described as a soft pink beige. In my opinion it has more brown undertones to it and is on the browny side rather than the pinky side.

This lipstick can be worn night and day like most nude lipsticks. I find it nice for during the day as the shine gives it a more casual feel, however I wear it both day and night usually just depends if I am going for a matte look or want something a little bit more shiny.

I do love wearing this liptstick if my lips feel a bit dry or chapped as it moisturizes the lips when you put it on. However the one thing I do not like about this lipstick is the longevity. I find myself topping this up a lot more topping up compared to honey love and other matte lipsticks. If you are on the lookout for a creamy nude lipstick and want more of a brown colour than a pink then I would 100% recommend this lipstick for you.

MAC Kinda Sexy

Kinda Sexy is part of the matte collection like Honey Love. Again it is quite drying and to ensure you get the most intense colour pay off I would recommend to use a lipscrub the night before and hydrate with a lip balm so your lips are not chapped or dried out. The colour of this lipsticks is quite different to the other nudes I have talked about.

It has almost a reddy undertone to it unlike the others which have been mostly browns and pinks. If you are new to the scene of nude lipsticks and are used to wearing a bit of colour on your lips then this would be perfect. This is probably the nude lipstick I reach the least for but in saying that it does look gorgeous on!

MAC Crème D’Nude

Last up is Creme D'Nude. This was actually one of the very first nude lipsticks I fell in love with. It is a lot lighter compared to the rest of the colours I have talked about. This falls under cremesheen for MAC. From the name it is quite easy to guess what kind of texture it is going to have. Alot like Blankety it is cream based and nice and shiny on the lips. In relation to colour this is more of a flesh/pinky colour and has pink undertones to it. I love this for an everyday lipstick as i think it goes so well with casual makeup and clothes. You can wear it with minimal makeup and also with dramatic makeup. For night time it is perfect if you are planning on wearing a smoky eye as it really brings out the eyes.

It does not dry out the lips as it is very creamy however again like blankey it does need topping up quite a bit as it tends to come off more easily compared to the likes of kinda sexy and honey love. If you are more of a pink/flesh nude girl then I would definitley go for this or if you want to try the fleshy tones without the matte effect this is your go to lipstick!

I do not actually have a picture of my Creme D'Nude as it is basically gone but you can see it in the swatch picture below!

From Left to Right; Creme D'Nude, Cherish, Honey Love, Blankety & Kinda Sexy.

There is my favourite nude lipsticks from MAC hope you all enjoyed reading :)
