What I Wore

Hello everybody. How amazing is this sunshine? I am loving it, lets hope it lasts a few more days! I headed out at the weekend and had an outfit planned but unfortunatley while I was fixing my tan I got tan on my top....SO ANNOYING!!!!! So I had to have a quick raid of my little sisters wardrobe and I found this cute top. Keep reading to see where all the pieces are from.
Hope you enjoy :)

The top does belong to my little sister (hehe) It is sooo cute and perfect for summer evenings. I love the floral detail on it. She picked it up in Bershka a few weeks ago for €19.99 and they still have a good few sizes left on their website.

Jeans are my absolute favourite to wear out. They are super comfy and if you do not like showing off your legs then they are perfect. I actually picked my jeans up in Topshop in New York last year but I have linked a similar pair from their website. Topshop jeans are my favourite brand of jeans and are where the majority of my jeans are from. They are a bit on the pricey side but I get years out of mine so it is an investment.

Again, the shoes I am wearing in the photo are unfortunately not stocked by River Island but these are almost similar ( and cheaper!) I love the pink colour of these it is really cute and goes perfectly with the rest of the outfit.

There is my outfit from the weekend. Hope you liked this post everybody.

Korean Skincare

Women (and men!) from the east are known for having flawless skin and investing a lot of time and patience into their skincare routines. In the past number of years we have seen the rise of Korean / Asian skin care becoming more and more popular in the Western World. With the likes of sheet masks and konjac sponges now available in the likes of Penney's and for very little I am going to talk you through the other steps in skincare that are popular in the Eastern world.

What is mainly popular in the Western World was generally cleanse, tone and moisturise. In recent years we have seen the introduction of the likes of serums, acids, face masks etc becoming staple steps of a skincare routine. With the Western world usually having between 4-5 steps Korean skincare can go to a whopping 8-10 steps morning and night!

Morning;

(Source Pinterest)

1. Wash face with just water to rid the skin of dirt and oil from sleeping.

2. Follow with toner. Toners are different to what we are used to. They are not drying instead they are made to hydrate the skin to fully absorb the other steps you follow with.

3. This step is a very important part of Korean skincare. It is called Essence. They contain active ingredients that  basically optimise your skin cells regeneration rate. It more than likely will come in a glass bottle and be very liquidy. Many people recommend to transfer to a spray bottle and spray directly onto face and pat in.

4. Next up is Ampoule. These are quite similar to serums. However you are only supposed to include this in your skincare routine to target a specific complaint or to use as a booster. They are usually smaller bottles than serums as it is a higher concentration of ingredients which you use for a period of time.

5. Serums are becoming more and more popular over here so this one should not be new to you. Serums are pretty similar to essence however they are usually much more thicker in consistency compared to essence. They are usually used for targeting major skin issues.

6. It is said from roughly 25 onwards you should start using eye cream and Korean skincare is no different. This is simply a cream targeted specifically for around the thin, sensitive eye area.

7. The most important step of a skincare routine? Moisturise! This will lock in all the steps you have just completed and keep the skin hydrated.

8. Last but not least we have suncream. SPF is an extremely important step if you want to stop ageing and it is said we should wear no matter the weather.

Night:

1. First step of the night time routine is to use an oil based cleanser. This breaks down makeup, dirt and oil that will be on your skin from during the day.

2. Double-cleansing is another important aspect of Korean skincare routines. After using the oil based cleanser it is now time to use a water based cleaner to ensure you have rid the face of all traces of dirt etc.

3. Twice a week (depending on your skin type) you should exfoliate your skin. This rids the skin of dry and clogged pores leaving a fresh canvas for your skincare routine to work off.

4. As in the morning routine Tone.

5. Essence

6. Ampoule

7. Serum

8. It is advised once or twice a week to use a sheet face mask. Sheet masks are a thin sheet which has been soaked in essence/serum. It provides further maximum hydration to the skin, it also allows for brightening and smoothing of the skin. Do not wash your face after this, simply pat the remaining excess and pat into the skin.

9. Eye Cream

10. Moisturiser

There you have it, it is a lot more compared to what I do myself but if it works for the Koreans ( have you seen their skin?!) then I definitley think it might be worth it. What do you think ladies, too much effort or right up your street?

My Favourite Tans

He-Shi Express Liquid Tan

First up is one of my all time favourite tans. It is the He-Shi Express Liquid Tan. I have been using this tan for a few years now. The only reason I do not use it as much as I would like to is because it is quite expensive compared to other tans on the market, and as I am a student I cannot afford it all the time!

As you can gather from the name, this tan
is a liquid tan so be warned - a little goes a long way with this tan! One thing I love about this tan is you can see exactly where you are applying it so no streaks! The tan blends in really easily. ( I always use my Glove Your Tanning Body Mitt it is the best!!) The tan dries in super quick after 2 minutes you are able to get dressed. I hate that sticky, wet feeling of tan. The smell also is not like a lot of other fake tans on the market. There is a slight smell but it is not that bad compared to a lot. I would usually put this on the night before to ensure I get the darkest colour from it. You are left with the most gorgeous golden, natural tan - there is no orange or greenish hue to it. I also found the tan fades quite nicely once you keep moisturizing!

As mentioned above it is on the pricey side, it costs €48 for the 300ml bottle, but I have bought it again and again so for me it is worth it.

Bellamianta Rapid Mousse

Next up is the Bellamianta Rapid Mousse. I have talked about this before on my blog but it is one of my favourites!!

This tan is a mousse tan. To be honest, mousse tans are probably my favourite type of tans. I find it so much easier to apply this and I do not end up spilling half of it on my bedroom floor. ( thank god I have wooden floors!!) With this tan, you have to be careful, it dries in really quickly, so ensure you buff it in as soon as you put it on your skin as it will not budge once it has dried. One thing I would recommend when using this tan is to put it on the night before as it can tend to look a little bit grubby when first put on. However, once you shower the next day you are left with a deep, brown olive colour.

This tan retails at €25, which I know for some people is a lot to pay for a fake tan. I like this tan and would pay this much for it.

Bbold Liquid Tan Dark

This tan I have only started to use recently but it is fast becoming one of my favourites.

As you can guess from the name this is another liquid tan except it is a lot easier to use as it is spray. There is little to no fake tan smell of it, my boyfriend has not complained about this one so that's a definite sign!! It also dries in really quick which you can probably guess is a big thing for me in a tan. Compared to the other two tans this is not as dark however, I like to use  this when I want a more natural looking tan or for during the week. I also think it would be fab as a holiday tan, as the colour you get from the tan is a really golden and healthy colour tan.

This tan is a lot cheaper than the other two. I picked mine up in a deal with their instant tan for around €12 and the tan itself on its own is around €10.

Spray Tan Black Magic 2-4-6

Last but not least is the Black Magic Spray Tan. I love to get a spray tan for a special occasion and pretend that is my actual skin colour for a few days. Is there anything worse than being blueish pale?! (Obviously there is but ..)

For the spray tan I tried out the 2-4-6 tan, so basically you can choose to wash it off after 2,4 or 6 hours depending on the colour you would like. I left mine on for the longest - 6 and was left with a gorgeous, deep dark tan. I loved that I could wash this off after 6 hours it meant I did not have to go to bed with the spray tan which I hate! Compared to other tans I have tried this tan has a red undertone which I had never seen before. To be honest I did not like it when I first saw it but once I had a shower I LOVED it! If you like a deep tan then I would definitely recommend it. It is such a perfect tan for a big night out or a special occasion. I got mine done in KiwiSun in Swords by Gwen, she is hands down the best person I have ever had doing my tan!

There is my favourite tans! Hope you liked this post, let me know what you think :)

Festival Style
What To Wear

Hello everybody, thanks for stopping by! Festival Season is on it's way so I thought I would do some blog posts on festival style - what to wear, makeup and hair. This one is all about what to wear to whatever festival you are heading to. I am heading to Longitude and Leeds & Reading Festival in the summer so I cannot wait to go all out for them! I hope you get some inspiration from what I have picked out. Let me know if you like them.

Outfit 1:

The first outfit I have chosen can be worn on a hot or cold/rainy day. I think these jeans scream festival with the tassels at the bottom and would be really cute for a day festival in Ireland like Longitude. You never know what the weather is going to be like after all!! I would tuck the white t-shirt into the jeans and also put a brown belt with the jeans. I absolutley love this jacket and think it goes perfectly with the outfit. You cannot go to a festival without wearing a hat and it will also keep your hair from getting wet! If it was a sunny day i would consider wearing flat gladiatior sandals however it is likely your shoes will get mucky and you do not want mucky toes or people standing on them so I think the boots would be the better option.

                 Outfit 2:

The second outfit I have picked out is definitely for a sunny day. If it is guaranteed to be sunny in Ireland then you are good to go, if not I would bring a rain coat to ensure you stay warm and dry! I love this jacket and actually bought it myself a few weeks ago from ASOS. They seem to be out of stock of it at the moment but I did find it from on another website with a few sizes left. I also put in some other similar jackets. These would look perfect with a plain pair of denim shorts as you do not want anything to take away from the detail on the jacket.

Outfit 3:

The third outfit I have picked out is again quite a summery / hot day outfit. Playsuits are so handy for festivals what with dancing and jumping around and what not! The playsuit I have picked is from an Australian website Pepper Mayo. It is quite expensive but their stock is amazing!! I literally look at their products all the time, hopefully I will be able to afford something sometime!! I would pop the western style belt around the waist of the playsuit just to give it something extra. The denim shirt is also just to pop on if it is cold or rainy. You could put the belt around the shirt also if you do not want to hide the belt, but leave the shirt open!
